NO NO NO NO! I didn't like the Museum of Tolerance at all. The Museum of Tolerance is where they teach you about the Jewish concentration camps and evil Hitler. It was too scary, sad, and loud for me. I do not recommend this museum to children or adults who hate scary, sad, or loud. Before we even started the tour the docent told us some things the Germans did to the Jewish people. I asked my mom if we could leave because I was scared of what we were about to learn. I had my hat over my face and my fingers in my ears the whole time. This is something I will never, I repeat, NEVER forget.
Today, I went to the Museum of Tolerance. It was a museum about when Hitler killed millions of Jews. It was SO SO SO SAD!!! It was especially hard to hear that they threw the newborn babies out the window of the hospital!! That was so devastating!!! They put Jews in a GAS CHAMBER!!! :'( I couldn't believe how sad it was!!! It was a great museum, but it so sad how Hitler actually killed TONS of Jews!! :'( ~Cassie
This is what the museum looks like in LA
This was one of the gas chambers. They would tell the Jewish people they were going to the showers and instead gas came out.
We went apple picking in Oak Glen with my cousins, grandparents, and my aunt and uncle. My wacko cousin Ellie is 9 days older than I am (13) she's completely CRAZY!!!! She is next to me on the top left. She is awesome!!!! My other cousins Baylee and Abbey are just cuties!!! Abbey is 6 and is so hilarious even when she is not trying to be. Baylee is 12 and is so sweet and cute, love her!!
After we went apple picking in Oak Glen, we went to my cabin in Lake Arrowhead. We made apple pie with my grandpa. We had so much fun!!! My job every year is to eat the dough of the extra pie crust!!! YUM!!!!!!

History came alive for our family in May when we took a trip to Colonial Williamsburg. From Martha Washington to visiting a slave plantation to catching lightening bugs, we experienced so many parts of America's history. Because this trip made such an impact on us, we will remember it for a lifetime.
I loved snowmobiling! It was Awesome! I was on the back of my grandma's snowmobile. We would go over bumps and around and through trees. My favorite part was going fast over bumps, big bumps, little bumps, all kind of bumpity bumps. Ha-Ha! As you can see I love all kinds of bumps.
I loved looking around and seeing snow fall on trees. It was so beautiful! It even started to snow towards the middle of the ride. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful ride except for Ella because she was tired and sick and cold. I felt so bad for her. And then she was worried about her dad because Ray and (My BFF) Mr. Corey's snowmobile broke down and we accidently left them behind and it took a long time for our leader to go back and find them. She was really worried. But, everything worked out and we had a WONDERFUL time! -Cassie
Two weeks ago we went to Manzanar in the Owens Valley, California. Manzanar is a place that the Japanese people were put in an internment camp, also call a War Relocation Center, in 1941 after the Pearl Harbor attack on my birthday, December 7th.
Here is my journal entry from March 30, 2010, right after we went to Manzanar. The journal entry was: If you had to go to an internment camp and you could only bring two suitcases how would you feel and what would you bring.
"If I had to go to a place like Manzanar and I could only bring two suitcases. I would feel scared and mad. I would bring in one suitcase of clothes and in the other one...Yu-gi-oh cards, stuffed animals, my pillow, a blanket, my D.S., books, toys, food, medicine, Bakugan, seeds, paper, a pencil, a sharpener, pictures, a computer, and a bible."
My Mom, Caleb, Olivia, and I all went to the Muzeo exhibit, "Frogs: A Chorus of Colors", a couple weeks ago. We learned a lot about frogs, like the beautiful looking frogs were one of the most poisonous animals on earth. I did not know that. Here is my collage of the pictures we took. Enjoy it! by, Cassie Rizio
Last Friday, February 12, 2010, my Mom, Caleb, and I all saw the play A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle at the South Coast Repertory.
It was a really fantastic play. It was a lot like the book, which was surprising because not a lot of plays are really close to the book like this one was. I loved the characters because they were funny and were good actors representing the characters well. The costumes were exactly like the book had described, it was amazing.
My favorite character was definitely Meg and my second was Charles Wallace. The whole play was wonderful, I can't even pick a favorite part.
I love this theater because they put on really good plays, the last one was Junie B. Jones. After every play the characters that were in the play come outside and sign programs. I like getting everyone to sign my program, because it's really fun.
Another play that is coming out at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, is the Lion King. My family and I are going on Thursday, June 3, 2010. It is running from May 26, 2010 through June 13, 2010. If you are interested in seeing the play with us call my mom and ask her where to buy the tickets. I know that it will be one of the best plays yet because I think it's exactly like the one on Broadway. I can’t wait to see it. I hope I will see you there to.

The play, Wrinkle In Time, is a story about a girl named Meg, her brother named Charles Wallace, and their friend named Calvin. They meet three people named Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. Charles Wallace is okay with them, but Meg thinks there’s something kind of strange about them, and it’s not just their names. The first reason is Mrs. Whatsit can just appear out of nowhere, the second reason Meg thinks their strange is Mrs. Who makes up strange nicknames for everyone, and the third reason is that Mrs. Which isn’t even a person, she’s a floating, blue, ghostly ball that talks. Whoops, I forgot to mention that Meg and Charles Wallace’s dad is a scientist and he had left to go on an important mission. That was when Charles Wallace wasn’t even one so he has been gone for a long time. The three Mrs. know where their father is and told them were he was. Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin go to another planet, out of our solar-system, with the three Mrs. On that planet everything and everybody are exactly the same and this is were their adventure begins.
The acting was great, the costumes were realistic, and the scenery was spectacular. At times I forgot I was in a theater, it was great.
I give this play 10 stars. **********
My Mom, my Aunt Sue, my Grandma, Caleb, Olivia, and I all went rock hunting a couple weeks ago up in Bishop. We went to Bishop to visit my Aunt Sue and my great Grandma Gigi who is in a elderly hospital. We had a lot of fun.
So one day we went to go visit my Grandma Gigi and we decided to go rock hunting when she was taking her nap. As soon as she laid down we got in the car and drove to the mountain. I forgot what mountain we climbed, but it was super fun. We climbed the mountain and we found some mines. We found crystals, garnets, and root beer garnets. My Aunt Sue knows a lot about geology. I found a lot, and so did Caleb and Olivia. It was so much fun.
After we were done we went back to my Grandma Gigi's hospital before she had finished her nap. Poor Grandma Gigi, we woke her up during her nap. :( But we all had fun!! My family is very, very adventurous. And I love them all!!! -Cassie
Last week I had the misfortune of seeing “Stuart Little, A Musical Fantasy” at the Laguna Playhouse. I did not like it mostly because it had weird songs, The songs didn’t even fit in the scenes they were in. It was so boring I almost fell asleep. The worst part was that a GIRL played Stuart Little. Stuart is obviously a boy. Overall, I did not like it. Just remember, though, this is my opinion. The only part I liked was the intermission because I got to play my D.S. until the show was back on. At least I got a break from school.
On a scale from 1 to 10, I give it a 4.
