Climate Region Report
Over fifty percent of Africa has little amounts of water. Although most of Africa is made up of desert, the weather can mainly be classified as tropical. Temperatures differ greatly throughout the continent. Africa is divided into five different regions; North, South, West, Central, and Eastern Africa. The climate zones of Africa can be divided into different climate types: the Rainforest, the Savanna, Steppe, Desert, and Mediterranean.
The Savanna is largely in the central region, and has very high temperatures all year and rain during the summer season only. The position of the continent of Africa and the lack of the mountain ranges serving as barriers causes the climate throughout to be consistent. The Savanna is characterized by large open areas of tall grass. Indian tribes are mostly the only people who live in the Savanna. The Maasai people are one of the many different tribes. They mainly raise cattle and several families live in huts together. Their huts are made out of branches, twigs, grass, and mud. These tribes have to walk miles and miles to find water. They mainly consume meat and milk. The animals in the Savanna include the African elephant, antelope, cheetah, giraffe, hyena, jackal, leopard, lion, ostrich, rhinoceros, and zebras. The Australian Savanna and the African Savanna have very similar climates and seasons. The average temperature of these areas is 70 degrees fahrenheit, but it can reach about 120 degrees fahrenheit. In the Savanna it is so humid that it is warmer in the rainy season than the dry season.
You've done a lot of hard work studying, Cassie! You write very well. Keep up the great work.

Good report Cassie, very thorough. Did you know Brenner is from Eastern Africa? A region called Tigray. Maybe you will get to go to the Savanna some day, you never know.
